VR Stope Simulation

STS 3D came up with an idea of making a real size life Virtual Stope program where a minner will learn how to mark, time the wall and perform an Entry Examination. The program runs on a computer using mouse, keyboard, spray can, paint brush and a mobile tablet as main input devices. It uses the Vicon system to track the input devices in the scene. The program has a learning mode and assessment mode to assess the minner to see if they are competent or not. I was the lead programmer of the project and worked closely with two 3D artist, three programmers and an engineer who constructed the frame. It was a challenging project a first in the world for the minning industry.
